Range Report

Went to the range today to practice with my 1911, since I’d like to participate more in Wild Bunch matches they have in PA, and start going to Steel Plate shoots next year.

I don’t know.  Holding my guns with two hands doesn’t seem natural.  For the past 6 months, I’ve been shooting Double Duelist at my Cowboy shoots, and that feels the most natural.  Although, I must admit, almost all my misses are with my left hand, since I’m right side dominate.

I’ve been watching quite a bit of Todd Jarret videos on youtube to help out, and take those tips to practice, or compete with.  But I noticed that although I’m slower sighting in with one hand, I’m more accurate with one hand.  Left hand is a trail of disaster at this time, and I was, quite frankly, lucky to hit the target, even at 7 yards.

But in the end, I really enjoyed shooting my 1911.  And walked out with a big smile on my face, and I think that’s all that counts.
