Firearms sales as recorded through NICS are up approx. 300,000 transactions per month since 2002…..
First time monthly NICS checks exceeded 1,0000,000 :December, 2003…1,008, 118

Note sure of where to go to review this stuff for myself, but it is interesting, and I am personally interested with just how many 1st timers there are, maybe even 2nd timers.

    Projecting forward (not including the November Obama-bump) this data indicates that about 11,300,000 successful NICS checks (sales) will be performed in 2008.

    I have to wonder what percentage of these sales are new guns, and what percentage are previously-owned or military surplus. And I REALLY have to wonder how many “off-paper” sales are made annually, between private parties.

  5. Another thing that’s interesting is putting $$ to all those checks. Even if 2/3’rds of those figures are generating fee’s, that’s still a **BOAT LOAD** of $$$ being generated for the Government. Makes me wonder just how willing they are about reducing positive cash flow……..
