I wasn’t able to pull triggers at the Lucky Gunner Blogger Shoot, but I did get to pull triggers at the PA State Cowboy shoot where I won 1st Place in the Frontiersman category (cap and ball gunz baby…..), even though I forgot to load my rifle on the last stage, and took a 50sec hit, since it didn’t cross my mind to load it up on the clock. Next time I’ll remember to either load my rifle in the first place, or take a deep breathe and load it on the clock, and let it rawr like a mofo.
A bunch of photographers found all of us Darksiders and managed to get some incredible photos, of which I hope to get via intertubes email over the next few days.

It’s real easy to learn, I had to teach myself since I’m the only one around who shoots them, was intimidating at first, but the first BOOM gave me a smile I will never forget.
You have people to help you out right?
I’ve got someone to assist, but he lives a four hour drive away.
I’m not too worried about the intimidation factor … I used to do English Civil War where there are over 30 steps to loading and firing the matchlock. This includes holding burning slow match and the musket in one hand while dumping loose powder down the barrel with the other. *grin* Gunfighter could be fun. Any excuse to sew more period clothing …
I always wanted to try a Matchlock. We’ll have to breakout the fire and brimstone at a blogger shoot one of these days.
